The Government of Uttar Pradesh has launched the Saksham scheme to provide scholarships and fee reimbursement to graduation and post-graduation students in Uttar Pradesh. The scheme is available to students belonging to SC/ST, General/OBC/Minority categories who are residents of Uttar Pradesh. To be eligible, their family's total annual income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakhs for SC/ST and Rs. 2.00 lakhs for General/OBC/Minority. Scholarships will be awarded to students who have achieved a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade in their previous final examination. 2.a) Merit-cum-means Scholarship for Professional & Technical Courses:
Merit-cum- means Scholarship for Professional & Technical Courses aims to provide financial assistance to deserving students from minority communities who wish to pursue professional and technical courses. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have achieved a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in their previous final examination. The annual income of their parents or guardians should not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh from all sources. Students belonging to Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, and Zoroastrian (Parsi) communities, as recognized under the National Commission for Minorities Act, 1992, are eligible to apply for this scheme. Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students aims to provide financial assistance to deserving students from low-income families during their higher studies. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have achieved a percentile score above 80% in their respective board examinations of Class XII or its equivalent. They should also be pursuing regular courses in colleges or institutions recognized by the All India Council of Technical Education, UGC Act, 1956, and other relevant regulatory authorities. Additionally, they should not be benefiting from any other scholarship scheme, including state-run scholarships or fee waiver programs. Students with a gross parental or family income of up to Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum are eligible for this scheme. The Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) was introduced in 2006-07 to support the higher education of dependents and widows of personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles (CAPFs & AR). The scheme is managed by the National Defence Fund and aims to promote technical and professional education for these individuals. The following categories of applicants are eligible for the scholarship: 1. Wards and widows of deceased CAPFs & AR personnel who passed away while in service or during election duty. 2. Wards of personnel who have been disabled due to causes related to their government service. 3. Wards of retired and serving CAPFs & AR personnel below the rank of officer. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants should be pursuing their first professional degree in fields such as Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B.SC (Nursing, Agriculture). They should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in their Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ), which is typically 10+2/Diploma/Graduation or an equivalent qualification for new applicants.

The Saksham Scholarship Scheme for specially-abled students is a scheme implemented by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The goal is to offer every specially-abled student the opportunity to continue their studies and prepare for a successful future through technical education and knowledge. To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must have a disability of at least 40% and their family income should not exceed 8 lakh per annum in the previous financial year. The UGC has introduced the Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child to support the educational expenses of girls at all levels, especially those who are the only girl child in their family. This scholarship aims to cover the direct costs of education for such girls. Girl students who are admitted in the first year of postgraduate (PG) courses in universities or colleges and do not have any brothers, or those who are twin or fraternal daughters, are eligible to apply for this scholarship. However, if a family already has one son and one daughter, the girl child will not be considered for the scholarship under this scheme. The scheme is open to girl students up to the age of 30 years at the time of admission to the first year of their PG courses. It is applicable to single girl children who have taken admission in a regular, full-time master's degree course at a designated university or postgraduate college.
